Pours a clear mahogany color; opaque black appearance in the glass; nice head, khaki hued, semi-creamy texture, soon becomes patchy yet lasting. Wonderful full-on chocolate nose. Simple yet very appealing taste; milk chocolate with an edge of grain char; mild bitterness. Medium-heavy mouthfeel; smooth and slippery on the palate.
Here's rock solid beer creations, where simplicity doesn't mean boring. Some aspects like the taste could almost be bumped up a notch, the same with the look if subsequent tries produced a thicker, longer lasting head, but overall, this is just a fine, quality porter.
