Poured from crowler. Dense black color with minimal head. Aroma of roasted malt with notes of chocolate candy, coffee, and a wisp of smoke. Flavor is not too sweet and is balanced by the roasted bitterness. Surprised by the level of roasted malt as most brewers shy away from giving drinkers a stout like this as they believe everyone wants pastry instead. Notes of chocolate, coffee, and some earthiness. A small stout with minimal carbonation gives a smooth, oily texture. A good effort.
