500 ml oddly shaped longneck bottle. No packaging date on bottle.
Clear (essentially) dark amber to mahogany pour with no significant head - appears almost still.
Nose of brown sugar, toffee, caramel and bourbon soaked dark fruits on an oaky background.
Sweet caramel malt, toffee, dates, dark fruit with an oaked bourbon hit on the palate, a touch of boozy heat.
As above very muted carbonation, and despite the sweetness the result is a somewhat medium thin mouthfeel which detracts from an otherwise remarkably tasty, aromatic doppelbock.
