Very dark, tan head. It looks great initially but fades completely and leaves no lacing on the glass. The liquid is near black and no light shines through the edge.
Deep dark chocolate aroma, a little chalk. Faint black patent malt but no coffee. There's a ghost-like presence of peanut butter, but I think my mind is playing tricks on me.
Relatively dry with some cherry brandy overtones. The alcohol is notable but not dominating. Thicker than an Irish Dry Stout but thinner than a Russian Imperial Stout. The flavor is similar to Baker's chocolate with a lingering bitterness. Again, no coffee (nor ash) flavors. A simple but easy-to-drink stout.
