This robust porter full of chocolate malt flavors was named after Elk Horn Tavern that sat along the Wire Road and played important role in the Battle of Pea Ridge. The original tavern had a set of elk horns mounted on the roof, referring to an old Ozarks superstition to keep evil spirits away.

Very dark with a large tan head and dinner lacing. Smells of roasted grain and slight chocolate. Flavor follows the smell, mostly the roasted grain coming through. Very smooth, ends well, could use a little more complexity.
