This beer is the overall winner of a Polish homebrew championships 2010, its author is Doroty Chrapek. Award also includes brewing the winning beer on a large scale by a commercial brewery.
500 ml bottle from Poland.
The beer pours clear golden amber with large and fluffy off white head with good retention, leaving patchy lacing. Aroma is bready yeast, peppery notes.
Taste is not as good as nose would suggest, peppery bitterness with hints of bitter citrus fruit (grapefruit mostly). Dryish and spicy finish, but it starts to feel watery after the mid-glass. Mouthfeel is medium with moderate carbonation and very noticeable warming feel.
Overall, it lacks a bit in the flavour department, but I can not say I did not enjoy the beer.

i'm not sure if this is a one time installment or if this will be brewed by zywiec again. the beer comes from a much smaller brewery called brackie... there is no information on the internet about them. there nothing besides what i could find on the back of the bottle. this is a larger polish brewery responding to the new and expanding microbrewery culture that is expanding in poland. this is an ale that is brewed with a belgian malt styles but its hard to say what exact style of beer this is in the american perspective without the exact process in mind.
pour is amber with an small but dense head that is quite sticky nose is fantastic at first which opens up into citrus floral and grapefruit blended with some interesting belgian ester quailities. this does not carry over into the palate at all. and as the nose disapiates the palate becomes baking soda like in feel. palate is a bit more mineral abrasive. a good start... but a dull finish.
