Żywiec Ciemne is a light, dark beer with a hint of caramel, a rich flavour and delicate bitterness. With a thick creamy foam. It was created by combining our passion and long-standing brewing traditions.

Light brown or dark amber in colour. The head is white, high and persistent, made up of fine bubbles, and forms a nice lacing on the glass from the very beginning.
Aroma of roasted malts, caramel (rather burnt caramel), nuts, with a hint of spice.
The flavour is "deeply" sweet, counterbalanced by hoppy, perhaps even roasted (malt) bitterness.
Medium carbonation. Medium body. Very soft, smooth texture. Short, roasted, dry aftertaste.

On draft at a pretty cool board game bar called Paradox Cafe in Warsaw. Surprised and impressed that this was already added to BA. Pretty standard euro dark lager. Heavy on the molasses and dark bread. Quite sweet, almost cloying, but certainly leans towards autumn flavors and feel. Not bad but tastes like a Heineken and Eastern European state-owned product.

Had on tap in Słubice, Poland. According to Zywiec's website, this beer seems to be currently draught only, and only available in Poland. Good thing I had the chance to try it, because it's quite unique. It tastes like bread crust from a really hearty, dark bread.
