Usually a hazy forecast at the beach would be a bummer, but at the HOB Brewery, this is a good thing. A hazier IPA chocked full of Citra, Galaxy, Amarillo and Simcoe hops is pretty much a perfect beach day.
Dunedin Haze gets going with a lightly golden and hazy appearance before topping off with a white foamy cap. As a citrus laden scent of pungent herb, tea leaf and complementary fruits, the taste leans in with a supple grain profile of cereal, honeysuckle and shortcake.
As the hops rise above the persistent sweetness, a juicy hop profile of mandarin orange and white grapefruit take charge. Other flavors of mango, passionfruit and papaya add a tropical twist to the flavors while hints of nectarine and grape seem to follow. Trending smoothly bitter, the late taste shows a spicy botanical balance with tea, citrus peel, fresh spruce and hemp.
Medium bodied and showing a slightly more persistent bitterness than many hazy ale, this session rolls along with a finish of vodka spice, fruity and grassy radiance, a mild peppery hop tannic taste, and into a medium-length aftertaste
