I’ve had some canned beer from here before, this was the first time at the brewery.
The neighborhood is a little on the rough side, but not too bad. Finding a curb side parking spot close by was pretty easy.
The couple of beers I had were really good, my wife ordered a bourbon flight which took quite a while to arrive, but was really good as well.
I was really looking forward to the food after looking through the photos and reviews on Google maps. We ordered the grilled sausage board, a trio of house-made Romanian sausages served with German style red cabbage, spicy mustard and pickled onions. It was absolutely delicious, very well done.
We opted to sit at the bar in the beer hall instead of on the patio due to threatening rain.
It was pretty noisy and the music was loud. The few times the music stopped and people weren’t shouting to talk, it was much better. It was a was a Friday night though, and somewhat expected. We wish we sat outside though.
Overall, management hit a home run with the kitchen staff, and the brewmaster seems to be very talented as well.
They were a short staffed at the bar though, surprising for a Friday night. They were busy, but fortunately the place wasn’t packed.
If I’m ever downtown in the future, I would love to come back again.

So I stopped by today on beautiful Sunday afternoon with Allison. Some of the neighborhoods nearby are a bit rough but Allison knew the Montessori school across the street. Inside they have indoor and courtyard outdoor seating out back in this restored 125 year old industrial building which is kind of cool. Service was excellent, and although the menu seemed a little limited for a restaurant (still pretty sweet for a brewery), the giant pretzel was sublime (outstanding mustard). We each started with a pilsner and I also had the kolsch. Both were perfect in the sunshine and very fresh tasting. Chill and pleasant overall vibes. Allison is already planning coming back.
