Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned 1/2/23.
Appearance: rich, dark amber-brown hue with a moderate haze and a finger of frothy tan foam atop. Enticing!
Smell: sweet, bready, and caramelly, with a little bit of alcohol heat and some nice accents of dates and tobacco. The composition is great, though I would love a little more volume.
Taste: sweet, of course, but with a nicely bready malt and not a small amount of booze. The sweetness counteracts the booze, though, and it ends up as more of a welcoming warmness. Raisin, date, dark cherry, and raspberry notes are subtly intertwined. I'm into it.
Mouthfeel: big body with a moderate carbonation and a smooth creaminess.
Overall: a sweet treat for sure, this is not exactly a "crushable" beer. But I'm really enjoying it!
