Poured from 16oz can into my BeerAdvocate teku. Canned on 5/19/23.
Appearance: rich red hue with just a dash of haze to the body and a thick finger of frothy pink foam. I love me a good cherry beer!
Smell: lightly tart and quite fragrant with lots of cherry and vanilla. I fancy I can smell the lactose sweetness as well; whether that's the lactose itself or the vanilla, I think it's just a tad bit overdone. Still quite good, though.
Taste: really good cherry flavor, with plenty of sweetness and vanilla as well. I think with a little less of those elements, the cherry and dash of sourness would really pop into a candylike treat. So, while I like it, I feel like it could be a little better.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this is a pretty darn solid beer -- Ladd & Lass rarely disappoint. That said, I think the sweetness and vanilla could be pulled back just a hair.
