In celebration of this year’s Lagerhead Beer Fest, we teamed up with our friends at Roy Farms to brew up a pilsner featuring Adeena hops, a personal favorite of ours that Roy Farms has lovingly bred and now grows. We love how Adeena melds classic Continental hop vibes (think purple flowers, damp earth, and a touch of peppery spice) with classic New World citrus. All of this hop goodness dances upon a stage of pilsner malt and corn.

Hops: Adeena
Malts: Extra Pale Premium Pilsner, Barke Pilsner & Corn Meal

Pours a clear bright golden color. Aromatic with honeysuckle and straw with apricot in the nose. Flavors of peach with a squeeze of lemon. Bitterness is distinct but mild. Resiny aftertaste but the aromatics enliven every sip. Light and sudsy body for a crisp and hugely flavorful hoppy Lager.

This is a really nice hop flavor. According to Yakima Valley Hops, "Adeena is a cross between Summit and an English male, has been used as a replacement for Hallertau Mittelfrüh and Styrian Golding." Modern Yakima nobility. From the 16 oz can purchased at Special Brews. Dated 13 July 2025 so plenty fresh.

Poured from 16oz can into my 8th Wonder chalice. Canned 7/13/25 — fresh!

Appearance: pale light-gold hue with a wisp of haze and a thick head of frothy eggshell foam atop.

Smell: lightly sweet malt with just a hint of graininess and a lovely hop aroma with a noble, almost grassy character that really works for me.

Taste: really good. The malt strikes the perfect balance between sweet and grainy, and the hops are light, almost fruity in their grassiness, just really really nice. One of the top pilsners I’ve had for sure.

Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and a good creaminess for a beer that I’d otherwise describe as crisp.

Overall: absolutely mega drinkable, indoors or out. L&L is a great brewery for IPAs but this beer shows a ton of breadth too!
