Our take on a Vienna Lager, The Beacon is (unsurprisingly) characterised by the use of Vienna malt as its base. This gives it hints of biscuit and toast, and our version has a rich copper hue. As befitting a noble style, the strong malt backbone is balanced perfectly by three varieties of European noble hops. To showcase the majestic malt character, however, no dry hops are used.

Very tasty, pillow-smooth Vienna Lager. The look is classic Vienna Lager, with a lovely copper hue and a bright, clear body. The smell is soft malt with noble hop, floral character. Taste is smooth, sweet, biscuity malt, with bitterness just enough to let you know it's there without taking center stage. Mouthfeel is pillow-soft and absolutely delightful. A very good riff on a Vienna Lager and definitely a beer that deserves contemplation to appreciate the nuances that go into brewing a great example of the style.
