Well this place certainly has a following, at least the day after Dark Lord Day at 10AM. We pulled in right at open and there were two crowds already breaking the door down. Thankfully they were families sitting at the large tables up front ordering soft drinks and in no hurry to get food, because we got our beer (not that we needed any more damn alcohol) and food lickety split.
The interior is pretty slick, hip but refined, clean but also edgy. The hard white bartop is contrasted by black ceilings and a very well stocked bar including every libation you can imagine, impressively in spite of limited spacing, even so far as featuring several Three Floyds spirits.
The ambiance is pretty cool even with the kids in the front watching TV--the bar not really all that far apart feels like a separate area nonetheless. The soundtrack is banging, if a little loud for 10AM, or perhaps a DLD headache, but that didn't stop us from trying their new barrel aged Milkman releases, which were actually pretty great.
But we came here for hangover brunch, and boy did we get it. The grits came with the most perfectly roasted Brussels I've ever had, deliciously marinated tomatoes, and a whole lot more, while the biscuits and gravy just stuck to the ribs in all the right ways. The brewer at Marz told us to come here for the crispy potatoes and aioli, and thus, we made sure to add that on, and his promise of bliss was met and exceeded.
