Purchased at Longstocking Nano Brewery in Pambula, Australia, back in January 2022.
The beer pours a burnished, dark copper with reddish hints at the tapering bottom of the glass. The head is off-white, almost muddy looking. It maintains a thin ring throughout the glass.
The aroma is strong caramel malts and fruity tang.
Taste-wise, the aroma tells the story. There's expected caramel maltiness, underlaid by a tangy, fruity hoppiness and a pleasant roastiness rounding out a well-balanced beer. Bitterness is moderate and counteracts the sweetness of the malt well.
Mouthfeel is full. There's moderate-to-high carbonation and a sweet, lingering aftertaste.
Overall this beer holds together very well. It's balanced, quaffable and would, I suspect, pair well with just about any dish that wasn't overly sweet itself.
Cheers!
