A sort of “sessionable” bourbon barrel-aged beer. Rare you find a barrel aged beer with this low alcohol content, but it’s well done. The barrel adds some nice flavor. The look is great, pitch black with a thin but noticeable head. Looks like a dark imperial stout. A slightly funky smell but the barrel taste is clean with oaky vanilla. The bourbon barrel taste is most of the flavor, as it isn’t thick, but you still get the impression you’re drinking something heavier than you actually are. Definitely well done. Curious what they could do with a heavier barrel-aged beer.
