This may very well be the best beer I’ve ever had. World class. Better be for the $16 I shelled out for one 12oz bottle.
Look - perfect; a shade lighter than black. Thin head quickly dissipated after pouring into my brand new Beer Is Good stemmed snifter. Thin ring and lacing throughout experience.
Smell - raspberry dark chocolate without a hint of alcohol. A lot of great beers with a similar taste profile and ABV smell much more boozy. Lack of booze smell contributes to the greatness of this brew. Smells like a Lindor chocolate.
Taste - outstanding. Follows the nose, though the 12.6% ABV isn’t covered up quite as well when it comes to taste. However, this is to be expected, and I like it like that. This one has more of a chocolate liqueur taste than a bourbon taste. For example, KBS tends to have more of a bourbon taste, but the thicker, more flavored stouts like this tend to have a similar taste to this stout.
Feel - lightly carbonated, and it brings the thickness. Thicker than a snickers, boy.
Overall - outstanding. If you ever find yourself in Norman, OK, check this place out. I tried 3 barrel aged imperial stouts and 1 not barrel aged imperial stout and all of them were phenomenal.
