Version 4.0 of our ever evolving IPA. This IPA was designed to allow the true hops character to shine and finish crisp and dry. We took domestic pilsner and rice and fermented it at a cool ale temperature with a German lager yeast leaving nothing in the way of the massive dry hop charge of Nelson Sauvin, Enigma and Galaxy. Big time thiols (Sauvignon Blanc, passion fruit), some coconut and a little berry on the flavor and aroma joint.

Pours a light orange hue with a creamy, 1/8th inch bright white head that leaves delicate strands of lacing along the shoulders of the glass. Clarity is slightly hazy (closer to a chill haze than NEIPA turbidity). Nose is fairly subdued - notes of lemon and hints of melon as it warms. Perhaps a kiss of coconut water at the end of the nose. Taste is fairly malt forward and there’s a bit of medicinal bitterness across the middle. Hop profile is not particularly nuanced or expresses although there is a suggestion of rice sweetness in the mix. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a pleasant carbonation that leaves a residual bite. Overall, the description was intriguing, although this just didn’t execute for me.
