Had Cashmere Gold, a "Double Dry Hop" IPA, poured from pint can, (apparently) hand-filled at Lilly Pad Hopyard, Morgan County, Cumberland Plateau, Tenn., into nonic pint.
Pours gold with clarity and huge creamy off-white head, with excellent retention, leaving thick rings of lace down the glass. Big floral aroma off pour, then some stone fruit, and a little malt as warms. Begins with some stone fruit and moderate hop bite up front, then mild caramel malt joins the fruit, all carrying into a dry and increasingly bitter finish.
Hop fruit and mild malt are well-balanced in this little eastern mountain west coast IPA.
