A: Pours deep amber with a large, tan creamy head. Dissipation is quick and leaves only little lacings.
S: Fruity, very fruity. Some nuts. There are sweet malts, an off-smell. Cherries. Some spices.
T: Rather dry malt, slightly roased. Their is cherry-flavors and stone-taste (I'm not shore if this is the right english word to describe the "seed" in the cherry). Spicy. Bitter hops.
M: Long bitter lovely aftertaste. Body is medium to full and carbonation is moderate.
D: For beeing a X-mas beer, rather dry otherwise not bad at all.

The color is "ruby amber" with a beige head leaving residues on the glass.
The smell has sweet tones like raisins and bitter orange, complemented with malt.
The beer is rather sweet, candid sugar, dried fruits, but also malty tones, a good bitterness and some alcohol taste is present.
Rather much carbonated which makes it fresher than expected.

Phew, christmas is way over and i still got loads of beers left to review...here goes...
A: Dark copper with a small head that kind of sticks to the glass.
S: Roasted malts, Chocolate, Christmas-spices, Caramel.
T: Liqorice, Ripe fruit, Aniseed, Metal.
S: Very sweet upfront with a dry bitterness at the end. Medium carbonation.
This is a fairly nice xmas-brew that has improved from year to year.
Something i'd like to have along traditional christmasfood. Feels a bit watery but otherwise quite nice.

The colour is dark amber-brown; the compact finger thick beige head leaves some lacing.
The smell is sweet and spicy with quite a lot of alcohol: Roasted heavy malt, liquorice, pop corn, chocolate and a hint of soap.
The taste is sweet; the sweetness can at time be sweet; the sweetness is on the border of being sharp. Apart form the roasted malt, there is a growing taste of sweet liquorice (probably from the star anise adjunct). The taste develops into a drier milder taste with a hint of aromatic hops and some sour-bitter notes, but the finishing aftertaste is dominated by the very sweet liquorice.
The body is surprisingly thin for a beer of this strength. The carbonation is mild with small, fresh bubbles.
A very interesting and promising beer, but in the end it is a little too unbalanced.
