This was quite a treat; a friend had some bottles, aged properly for about five years.
A: Pours very dark brown with quite some hues of red. A small tan head sinks quickly into faint lacings.
S: Wow, tart and dark dried fruits. But also fresh oranges and lemon. Yeast and some nice spices. Some chocolate in the back.
T: Complex and well balanced. Everything probably mellowed over the years to this nice smooth drink. Dark dried fruits dominates together with syrupy sweet malt.
M: Full body and no carbonation. Aftertaste stays sweet for some time.
O: Very interesting. Probably not as nice when it was new...

The colour is dark brown-red; the liquid is quite cloudy (the beer is bottle conditioned). Almost no head, some lacing.
The smell is fruity (oranges, apricots, raisins) and matured. Some notes of yeast, sour wheat, alcohol and a hint of chocolate and wax. There are some musty notes here that I dont really appreciate.
The taste is strong and quite complex: Mild chocolate notes, some herbs, raisins, alcohol, fruity bitter flavours and some sweetness. Full bodied The long and warming aftertaste is dry with dried fruits, creamy malt, some cocoa, yeast, lots of alcohol and some boiled meat.
The carbonation is medium strong with large bubbles. The liquid is quite thick and creamy. Nice.
Still its a little bit below average: The alcohol is too evident.
