cool that these guys are doing well enough to need an expansion to a second location. whatever happened to the old yellowstone valley that was in here? i liked it back then, and its pretty darn similar now, although they kind of moved the bar over and changed the seating up a bit, it feels largely the same, and remains a place thats cozy in the winter and chill and fun in the summer, still has the big stage in it, still sort of dim lit, minimally decorated, and adjacent to that distillery that never seems to have its lights on, nothing like the vibe of their other spot, quite the opposite, but i was impressed the the beer selection, including the bottled stuff, and think these guys are definitely making some of the most ambitious beers in billings and beyond. i liked a sour white grape ale that had a little wild funk to it, we dug the bottle of brett ipa we picked up, and the belgian blonde was fine too, a good mix of stuff on tap too, not all yeast forward beers, but that is certainly what had me most excited in here. the service was not memorable good or bad, insignificant really, the place was quiet enough that we got beers without a wait. no food happening in here, but that would be a cool thing to add in over time. i think itd be fun to catch a show here one night, but it felt a little vacuous and even generic just sitting there in this big space mostly empty ripping beers. probaaly caught it on a weird vibe day, but i was happy with the liquid. will have to check them out again in the summer when its all opened up and they have entertainment on...
