Allerton Brewing Company

Location along main street and adjacent to the old mill on the river. Street parking, plus a parking lot at the back. Cozy taproom, with a covered patio out back. Patio overlooks the river flowing over a dam and the old mill building on the other side. Interior room has front windows overlooking the street, a ceiling of distressed corrugated tin sheets, red brick walls, and a wood slab floor. Bar with high backed stools on the left side, and the ordering station. Other seating at low and high tables. Horse art on the walls. TV screen above the beer can cooler. Twelve or so taps offering standard styles. Cordial and helpful staff. Scenic location, lower lit, and a repurposed history.

For me, the vibe is perfect. Cozy tap room, good selection of rotating beers, no music, dog-friendly patio. The beers are excellent, the staff are friendly, and the food from the sandwich shop is great. This is situated on the river in the picturesque downtown area of Independence. Can't ask for much more than Allerton offers. Highly recommended!
