This old traditional pub on corner Rutland Street and Charles St is the only Hoskins Brewery tied pub in Leicester town centre. Usually up to 5 real ales on, normally from the Hoskins range and one Guest beer. Interior is from the 1930s with plain wooden panelling and floors and seen little change.
The pub is popular with Rugby fans and real ale drinkers too, though you feel the place needs some refurbishment soon!
Worth a visit when in Leicester, especially if you want to try the Hoskins beer range.

A very nice pub to rest after going round the city centre all day long. What would someone expect from a traditional English pub? WOOD dominates the pub surroundings. The pub offers quite a selection of fine Leicester (and not only) Ales. Very friendly atmosphere. In general the location and the surroundings of the pub inspire you to drink another, and another... and another pint of the fine ales it offers. I checked upon this pub before visiting Leicester and to be honest i expected this pub much better. Still a very nice pub though
