I visited Break Rock Brewing during Memorial Day Weekend back in May, we stopped by during an early afternoon on a Saturday.
Break Rock is located at scenic Marina Bay in Quincy, surrounded in a vibrant mixed-use area made up of apartments, condos, offices and restaurants. The area features killer views of the Boston skyline, has a boardwalk and is right on the water providing a chill environment.
From what I recall, there was about a dozen or so options on tap with an in-house made Seltzer also available. Beer styles covered the bases with styles like several IPA's, Blonde, Belgian Session, Brown Ale, etc. The drafts come in 5 oz. or 13 oz. and beers were served in quality tulip glasses. They also have 'beers to go' where I think they can on-site if you want purchase a single or four pack - very cool.
I had the 'Everyone is Getting Married', a double IPA that was excellent featuring a blend of several hops, providing a juicy dank hop punch.
Service from the bartender was attentive and competent during our stay. There's also seating throughout, I don't think they serve food, but you can bring in your own food from one of the several restaurants in the area.
Break Rock does a great job at capturing the history of Quincy including a giant picture of the iconic Life magazine cover from the late 1930's featuring kids diving from a local quarry. Also of note is the awesome vintage Fender Dick Dale ad.
This place is doing is right and is a must visit in the area, it matches a chill brewpub vibe with quality beers in a remarkable location on the water.
Cheers!
