Landmade Brewing "Cooper"
16 fl. oz. can "CANNED ON 03/21/23 10:12 NOT RYAN" and sampled on 08/21/23
$5.99 @ Total Wine & More, Claymont, DE
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a pale ale at 6% ABV brewed with 2-row barley, wheat, and oats and hopped with Mandarina Bavaria and Huell Melon. It's poured a very cloudy light golden body beneath a standard finger's width of white foam. The aroma is fruity with a twist from the Huell melon, a hint yeasty, and sweetish and floral due to the oats in the grain bill. I was expecting more orange from it but I'm actually getting a lot of apple which must be coming from the yeast. The flavor, however, delivers the citrus and soft melon that you expect from the hops, threaded through the oat-like and lightly wheaty malt. It's firmly bitter and dry in the finish with some grassiness and a hint of melon lingering. It's not complex, but it's somewhat unique, and interesting and enjoyable. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. All in all it's a decent enough pale ale but I really think that some more time in the tank, or even filtration is needed to polish it up. Looking at the base of my glass there are piles of what looks like mud laying on the bottom, and that's yeast; that's why I could smell it in the aroma.

Yet another very high level New England style pale ale from Landmade. Super aromatic and juicy in flavor as well, but rich body and a balancing hop crispness in the finish.

From Landmade "This Pale Ale is bright and bursting with flavors and aromas of orange, citrus, and melon; and complimented by our patented soft, pillowy mouthfeel."
From me: pours somewhat straw color, with a white head. Nose is citrus. Taste is as well with a slight melon flavor and a backend white peppery bite.
