This innovative and one of a kind East meets West beer is a truly unique experience. Combining American craft brewing techniques with the history and precision of the Jing Wei Fu Tea producers (Southern Shaanxi in China), we've created a beer like no other. Nugget hops and our house ale yeast start this beer off with fruity aroma. The flavors are then a blend of subtle malt and a full earthy tea flavor with a dry finish.

A bottle of Empire Two Dragons chilled to refrigerator temperature and poured into a glass in late August, 2019. No production date indication. The beer is cloudy with a small head that leaves no lacing. The flavor is tart and slightly sour. I'm not sure if this beer is too old. I'm not sure what Chinese tradition means. But this bottle of beer isn't very good.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a slightly cloudy pale yellow with a small white head. The aroma is bland and mon-descript. The taste is very watery.

My experience seems very different from some of the other reviewers, perhaps this is due to the age of the beer... which all I can tell from the partially worn away date is 2016... drink by or bottle on ????? I don't know. More floaties than carbonation, look almost gelatinous... no head or lacing. Bready, malty aroma. Tastes somewhat hefeweizen-ish. Under carbed - perhaps from age, but the biggest fault... so much would be nicer if this were bubbly and lighter.

Happy to be 7th reviewer of this fine Kombucha inspired/ infused beer.
Loving Empire Brewing, East meets West, Kombucha, and all things fermented... I love this original beer.

a) Looks a real beer, a completely hazed, copper yellow body with a short head, but scant retention or lace.
s) Delicious authentic cross between kombucha and a sour beer. Fermented tea dominant sour, earthy, musty with hints of fruit, yeast, flowers. fecund and pleasant, subtle.
t) Follows smell with sweet malt, simmered by earthy, yeasty, and musty flavors, sour as in classic sour beer, hops providing nice balance that land the beer balanced and refreshing. Good session and summer beer. Perfect with all Chinese, Japanese, raw, and acidic (eg tomatoes/salad) food.
f) medium-light bodied with low carbonation and a clean fresh finish.
o) One of my favorite new beers. Original. Try 24.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of grassy hops, bready malt and some fruit. Body is medium and crisp. Grassy hops, bready malt and ripe fruit fill the mouth. There is pleasant sourness as well. Finish is long and sour. Interesting brew.

Pours copper with an inch head and some visible floaties. Aroma is fairly metallic with malts being much more pronounced than any hops. Taste is fairly sweet and malty. I did not detect any of the tea flavors that I was expecting. Very light body and with a decent carbonation bite on the tongue.

A: The beer is hazy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down, leaving wisps of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of herbal tea and dough-like malt are present in the nose.
T: I agree with one of the other reviewers—this tastes more like a kombucha than a beer. You may consider this to be an acquired taste.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This tastes more like kombucha than beer so it might not be everyone's cup of tea (no pun intended).
