Empire IPA at New York Sports Bar, terminal 5 at JFK airport
Appearance - Served up in a tall pilsner glass, clear and golden orange in color with a thin layer of white suds. Fair lacing, with a couple of broken up patches on the glass.
Smell - Fair citrus and grassy hop bitterness with a faint, sweet malt breadiness.
Taste - Follows the nose. High hop bitterness that's mostly grassy with a touch of citrus and spice. Faint, bready malt sweetness. Grassy bite continues mid-taste and follows into the finish. Grass / Ear wax bitterness persists in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Fair drinker. Mostly dry finish.
Overall - Not a fan. The hop bitterness is insanely grassy / waxy to the point that it is not enjoyable. Definitely one and done with this one.

Very smooth feel. Warm malt front with slightly skunky hops finish.

Not as much hop flavor or bitterness as I would expect from an ipa. Great color and head. Beautiful lacing left on glass but overall, beer is lacking depth and generally hoppiness. Tastes like a very generic ipa
