This four time Great American Beer Festival winner and one time World Beer Cup winner is Pale yellow in color and has the flavor of a light German pilsner, crossed with the crisp cleanness you might find in an American Ale. Skinny Atlas is named for Central New York's Skaneateles Lake from which Empire draws its brewing water.

Bottle from Tops. Starts nice with a hazy golden pour, tight creamy head, lots of carbonation. Crisp grainy aroma, taste goes a bit south, musty, cheese. A bit too funky for the style. Not bad, but should be a bit more crisp.

Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with minimal head.
Smell is sweet malt with a bit of grape.
Taste is a fair amount of grape and a dash of lemon grass. Slightly sour and dry.

chilled bottle of Skinny Atlas (Kolsch style) from Empire was poured into a simple glass. The beer has a golden body with a white head. The head falls quickly and doesn't leave lacing. The aroma is clean and beery, very nice. The flavor, to me, is an excellent representation of a German Kolsch. The brewers deserve credit for delivering this style of beer in the US.

Pours yellow/light gold with medium carbonation. Aroma is of malt, maybe a little fruity hops. Taste is much the same with a bit of grain coming through. Tastes kind of like a mix between a craft Kolsch and a macro lager. Okay but I'd definitely go with a more traditional kolsch.
