Had at Syracuse location with dinner last night and was very impressed. Reminded me of my fav Great Lakes Xmas ale. Need to grab a growler from Caz. Nicely done empire!

On tap at empire. Liked and smelled like a nice warmer, nice cloves. Taste did not follow, bitter.

What a way to warm up while on the slopes at 'Tog'. Had a fluffy head, great deep mahogany coloring. The flavors matched the nose on this one perfectly. Spicy and savory as a winter warmer should be with cardamom, roasted barley, dates, nutmeg. May have to revisit tog just for this delicious grog!

Had this one at Alewife in Long Island City, Queens, NY.
I just want to point out that this is a sour beer with a wonderful smell that is very complex.
It isn't the most beautiful beer but it is very drinkable for the alcohol level. One of the better non-wild sour beers I've had. Reminds me of alesmith, i think that's the sour I'm thinking about.

From Empire: The base of this beer is a strong Scottish ale, with the addition of some unique spices. Cardamom and allspice give this hearty brew a holiday aroma and flavor. 7.5% ABV
The spicing is very distinct, though not overpowering. The cardamom does set this beer out, but there's nothing subtle about the allspice. The underlying beer is lightly fruity, with a hint of dates and roasty barley. The barley reminds me more of a brown ale, but a strong Scottish ale makes sense too. I'm not a huge fan of spiced beers, but this is a good example of s spice-forward winter warmer.
