Pours black with three fingers of light tan foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is roasty, toasty, bready, and mild caramely and earthy malts. Slight sweetness layered over dark malts. A little fig and toffee add that sweetness. Flavor profile is toasty, bready, caramely, and earthy malts. Very light spicy and even more light herbal hops add roundness to the flavor profile. It has a dash of sweet via toffee notes. Mouth feel is medium in thickness with a very thin, crispy velvet texture. Overall, a fun sipper. Nice dark malt notes within a light lager body. Engaging, but not liver crushing.
Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can.
