Pours dark copper-yellow with a clear transparency. Head is two fingers of fluffy white foam. Aroma is crackers, wafers, and bready malts with thick grassy, herbal, and spicy hops. The spicy and grassy hops are a really pleasant pop with German expression, adding nuance to the dry malts underneath. Flavor profile follows a lot of similar notes - stacking grassy, spicy, zesty hops over biscuity, bready, wafery malts. Hops throughout keep the flavor profile from completely drying out, though it does lean towards dry at the end. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is semi-crispy with a slightly frothy start. Overall, semi-dry refreshing Maibock. While summer seems to be coming fast, this beer helps bring the taste of spring to an otherwise hot lead-in to summer.
