Murky, reddish brown with a small beige head and little lacing. Aroma vacillates between maple-like sweetness and an earthiness bordering on leather. Sweetness rocks the tastebuds as well. Alcohol is also evident. Spicy, floral hops in the background. Warming, decently carbonated, medium-to-full bodied mouthfeel. This one took time to grow on me but eventually proved satisfying.

Style classification is accurate S this is an English BW. Sweet and caramel/toffee and balanced nicely by the hops so the overall experience isn’t too syrupy or cloying at all but there is no smack in the face with hops like you get from many American BWs. This one is well made.

Good representation of the style with no frills. Look is dark ruby with small amounts of sediment, so some points off for that. Smell is as expected with complex sweetness, fruits, and caramel, and a bit of bitterness; there is a small metallic aspect that is undesirable however. Taste follows smell though thankfully the metallic element is not present. Feel is thick and syrupy, in a good way.
