Inspired by the Belgian framboise, our take on this beer style uses 80% golden sour beer aged in tank for 3-4 months, blended with 20% golden sour beer aged in wine barrels for over two years. We refermented this base beer with 200g/l of freshly harvested Tayberries grown 12 miles from the brewery. Tayberries are a cross between raspberries and blackberries, named after the River Tay, and were first bred in our home of Dundee.

375ml bottle. Label reads 'BEST BEFORE: 18/05/2033'. Identified as from 2023.
Cloudy, cranberry red colored body. The fizzy head immediately disappears. No lacing.
Aroma is gentle leather funk and ripe berry, of which I can identify strawberry, and probably tayberry but I do not have any experience with this berry.
Taste is quite dense and sour. Flavor is mostly ripe berry, with recognizable strawberry and raspberry (which is in the background of tayberry). Funk is present but quite overwhelmed by the ripe berry. Aftertaste has a lingering flavor of ripe berry.
More than medium mouthfeel. Coats the mouth but is still tart and eventually cleans the mouth. Carbonation is supportive but does not result in any head nor lacing.
Expression is very fresh and full. There seems to be some oak, but the berry is predominant.
