just my second from these guys, although i have been seeing their stuff around a little bit more, 2022 vintage, really heady beer, blended wild ale in barrels, a rosemary gruit as one component, and then macerated on tangerines, and the combination is massively complex, the ferment rules, and the rosemary is so unique in here, i love everything about this, one of a kind beer, super mature now, well conditioned, sour but still drinkable, weird in the best possible way, downright memorable despite our relative intoxication when we got into it! blonde to sort of lightly hazy apricot colored liquid from the little bottle, big bubbles in suspension but very little head after the initial pour. aroma of old oak, bretty funk, sharp white wine, dried apricot and mango, acidic bright fresh tangerine, rosemary sprigs, weed, and light oxidation thats very flattering here, moderate wheaty type malt base giving enough of a foundation for all this, a hint of white pepper and coriander, saison and even wit-esque in places. the flavor is all of this, the rosemary is riding its essential oils and is somewhat subtle until all of a sudden i notice it, and then its unmistakable and amazing, killer with the tangerine, somewhat wintery in the sense of its providing some kind of needed vitality, the citrus is real and alive and there is lots of it, the sourness is lemony and bacterial and piquant without really being limiting, and the funk is awesome, very wild to me, and the whole thing is dynamic and intriguing in such a cool way. there is some bitterness from the rosemary, and it carries other herbal notes, thyme, green tea, and clover flowers or something springy, real unique. the orange and the yeast together are fantastic, there is nice maturity here, and overall this is a very special and creative little bottle of beer, i will eagerly pull the trigger when i see beer from these guys next time! loved this!
