The pour was promising; dark amber or reddish brown with a short light brown head which left no lacing.
The taste is not at all what I expect from a barleywine; no toffee, no warm fruit compote - not precisely certain what I was tasting. That said, it *was* tasty, I just wouldn't have thought it was a barleywine if the can didn't proclaim this fact.
The feel is not bad, but thinner than I expect a barleywine to be.
OA, this may be the brewer's opinion on what a barleywine should taste like, but it's not going to change many minds on the matter.

French Crick Furry from Trails to Ales Brewery. Gift from brewery the day it was canned, March 2025. 16 fl oz can. Reviewed 24/05/25 (Review 3530). Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Stored at 39 degrees F at home; served at 58.5 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 60.4 degrees F.
Appearance – 4
First pour – Medium Amber (SRM 12), clear.
Body – Brown (SRM 20), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, ruby and clear
Head – Average (Maximum 2.1 cm, aggressive center pour). Sandy tan fading to almond as it oxygenates, high density, short retention, collapsing to a 0.2 cm crown and no cap.
Lacing – Poor. A short thin band of near-microscopic bubbles.
Aroma – 3.25 – Mild malt. No yeast, no alcohol, no hops, no toffee/caramel, no fruit.
Flavor – 3.25 – Follows the nose, slightly sweet. No alcohol (12.5 % ABV, according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. No gastric warming.
Palate – 3 – Medium: slightly syrupy: nearly flat.
Style: Follows the loose style guidelines as condensed by BA.
Final impression and summation: 3 (After deducting 0.25 point for an undated personal container) Uncredited label artist. Alcohol is totally hidden as are nearly any other barleywine flavors other than some slightly sweet malt. Markedly average, the hallmark of their beer.

Trails To Ales French Crick Furry Big Ass (English) Barleywine, 12.5% ABV. Pours black with a one-finger light brown head that left no lacing. Aroma is roast malt and toffee. Taste follows, slightly sweet, moderately bitter. OK mouthfeel if a bit overcarbonated. Overall excellent.
