Not really a fan of Monteiths beer BUT I really enjoyed the brewery. Really beautiful place with a nice selection of takeaway options. Ordered the pork belly and it was phenomenal. Highly recommended if you are in the Greymouth area.

This is quote a polished operation. Very modern grounds and tasting room with a menu that is typical NZ pub food. The flight or tasting tray comes in either 3 or 6 options for what appears to be 5oz tastes. Like many larger scale NZ beers all are a bit light, and a tad stringy, but this was a great lunch stop with a nice staff. Nice place

Good place to stop after a cross country train ride en route to the ski hills and west coast. Simple, clean ambience. Food was cheaper by NZ standards, but expensive when comparing portions. Good chicken tenders for those not afraid to order from the kids menu. Plenty of beer options on tap and scheduled tours are available.

4pm Tuesday afternoon my wife and I had the place to ourselves, completely empty but I don't usually mind that. Big and newly completed with lots of room to breath inside, big high ceilings and lots of space to stretch. I struggle rating service here because they don't work for tips so you get you own cutlery and need to go up to the bar to order. The people there were really friendly but when your outnumbered by staff 5-2 I don't expect my empty glasses to start piling up at my table. Lots of old brewery stuff on display and some background history on the place was neat to look at. The breweries behind glass and they do tours throughout the day but we didn't want to wait around for the next one to start. Beer was 7-8$ a pint and for NZ that's reasonable, food was a little pricy I thought for the size of mussels we got. We only tried the mussels and it came with a cream curry sauce that was decent but a little overpowering but good on its own.
Overall it was a decent place for a relaxing pint but nothing amazing. From what I could tell this was pretty much the only thing in Greymouth so odds are you'll end up there if your ever in the area.
