No date on can, into a pils glass (not stylistically correct, but my best lager glass).
Pours a rich amber with off-white foam, very clear and quite beautiful in the light. Aroma is heavy on rich amber and roasted malt with low bitterness. It doesn't smell sweet either, just a fantastic aroma of light roast coffee and amber malts. Flavor follows the nose, tons of brown bread and light coffee. It's dark but not black, and has the combination of richness and lightness that a lager needs. Feel is very bright and the body is exceptionally low for the ABV; this is much easier drinking than an equivalent IPA.
Overall, probably the fastest I've downed a doppelbock. It's not too thick or sweet, and feels like an amped up, more flavorful lager, as the style should be. Exceptionally good.
