Winner of a Canadian Brewing Awards Gold Medal in 2008, this beer combines a rich malt character with a subtle hop aroma to produce a delicious European-style bock beer.

Supposedly (according to the bottle) a winner of the Canadian Brewing Awards Gold Medal (I see this is true on the CBA website - 2007 Gold).
22oz pours a light cola color with a hint of the copper suggested in the name. Light looking and clear. A finger of head that quickly takes off.
Nose is bready malts with hints of caramel, a slight acrid roasting hiding behind that.
Taste is subtle and alluring. Hints of the breadyness that I think of when I think bock but with dashes of ... copper? A slight metallic like zing, a dash of molasses, a nice sweetness on the entry (though still subtle) and a hint of bittering in the finish.
Lightish carbonation makes it seem smooth and leaves me with the feeling that this is a highly drinkable brew. It's certainly no big beer but a well made one with all types of subtleties and nuances. Well played Sean Hoyne, well played.
Edit: On Tap - Beautiful beer, malty and delicious. Hints of fruit and toffee, drinkable and yet delightfully full of flavor. A must have if it is on tap. Edited my score up ever so slightly.

22 oz bottle, thanks to ritzkiss for sharing this one.
Pours a crystal clear copper red, true to its name, some orange, thin off white head forms, settles to a thick ring, no real lace on the glass. Smell is nice, sweet and malty, caramel, lightly fruity, sugary, toast and biscuit, very clean and malty, simple but effective. Taste is nice too, very smooth, caramel, iron, toast, big biscuit, raisin and light fruit, total malt bomb, very clean flavour. Mouthfeel is light bodied with low to medium carbonation. A pretty nice bock, very malty, super clean flavours. Well done, thanks Eric!
