Poured from 16oz can into my 8th Wonder chalice.
Appearance: nice golden hue with a clear body and a thick head of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: very sweet with a somewhat biscuity malt character, and a light dose of orchard fruitiness -- think pear and apple.
Taste: sweet indeed with a neutral malt flavor and a nice amount of pear character. Definitely a bit of heat toward the end, and a relatively high bitterness. Good, but a little rough around the edges.
Mouthfeel: rich body with a moderate carbonation and a good creaminess.
Overall: this tripel is not quite as balanced as I like -- the sweetness is a bit cloying and the booze and bitterness are a bit too heavy on the scale. Not bad, but not my favorite.
