Kirchwerder 10/5 2024. 33 cl can from Rewe, Europa Passage, Hamburg. As "Astra Kleine Freiheit Helles". White can with a Albatros wearing a blue cap and Astra’s logo in red.
Pours clear pale yellow with a big white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of malts mingling with grains and a strange scent of detergent. Sweet palemalts, bread and soap. Metallic alcohol and sourish grains.
Low carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
Sweetish Helles with a soapy touch.
