Copenhagen 7/7 2019. 33 cl bottle from Mikkeller Web-shop. Alvinne has taken their Sigma, put it into a barrel together with raspberries. And here we are. Alvinne's usual brown-ish label with a clear pink stripe to draw attention to the fact that fruit has been added.

Pours murky brown with a red hue and a big off-white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.

Aroma is foremost tart with a lighter fruity sweetness of raspberries in the background. Manages to keep the vinegar at bay. Vinous presence of alcohol.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, sticky, oily texture.

Flavor is lightly sweet followed by a stronger sourness. Aftertaste is sour but the fruity sweetness is peeking in. Lingers for a while.

The berries adds a nice touch of sweetness to the austere Sigma.

A 330ml bottle, with a best before date of August 2023. Poured into an Alvinne teku glass.

Appearance: Dark brown in colour with a two finger beige head that had decent retention while leaving only some sparse spotty lacing.

Aroma: Tart, sour, raspberry, oak, and a touch of acetone.

Taste: Sour, tart, raspberry, oak, with light acidity and balsamic.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.

Overall: Very nice raspberry aroma and flavours. I could drink this again and again.

Bottle: Poured a deep reddish color ale with a large darkish foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of tart notes with huge raspberry notes with some light acidic notes and light funky notes. Taste is a solid mix of raspberry notes with some tart notes, light vinous notes with subtle acidic notes and light funky notes. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable and more balanced then I was expecting with good drinkability.

L - murky reddish brown with a lot.of particles

S - big raspberry presence with biscuit, some acetic notes. Amazing smell

T - follow the smell with a pungent sourness. The raspberry is amazing and seems fresh as ever. Some tartness. Very balanced

M - Nicely carbonated very enjoyable mouthfeel which enhances the taste

O - Amazing, straight forward raspberry sour ale. I was amazed by the quality of this beer and how much it's an improvement from cuvée Freddy. World Class. Really.
