L- Mid gold but very cloudy (with more sludge left in bottle). Pours with 2Cm head that's holding well.
S- It has a sour nose on it, reminds me of sour fruit.
T- Oh my... OMG... it is SOUR! I did something I do about once in several hundred beers, I literally involuntarily physically shuddered in response to this beer's taste. If I took half a glass of the world's sourest apple juice and added 1/2 a glass of water to it I might end up with a flavour near this beer.
F- SOUR, whilst feeling thin on feel. Carbonation is good in the mouth.
O- You need to positively love sour to have a hope with this beer. Unexpected for me, I've enjoyed scores of Berlin connected beers (lived there 3yrs) plus rye beers; but IDR ever having anything like this. Definately not one for me at all; always a shame but perhaps esp. this time where I added the beer to the directory here.
BB: Oct-2021 330ml bottle Bought from the encyclopaedic BelgiumInABox beer shop for international home delivery to the UK. Great shop, but this isn't a beer I'd repeat if handed for free.
ps. I added this listing for the beer as a German rye beer (roggenbier), as I've no idea how to add a Belgium brewed interpretation of a Berlin sour rye beer! If someone more informed can think of a closer fit then 'Suggest edit' and request a change of style, Thx!
