Takeaway purchased at the brewery and drunk soon after, in April 2022.
The beer is a gorgeous jet black. It has a thick, tan-coloured, persistent head. No evident carbonation in the glass, but that would require some light to penetrate the beer.
The aroma is sweet and chocolately, with a little roast and some cracker.
Taste is very sweet with some chocolatey notes. Presumably there's a metric tonne of lactose in there. Couldn't detect any roast.
Mouthfeel is thick and unctuous, almost decadently so.
Overall it's a fairly neutral, easy-drinking stout. Certainly worth a second look if one was presented.
