This one came from Big C Extra in Jungceylon, Phuket (January 2026). Sampled back home in Australia in April 2026.
L: A very attractive pour. It sits in the glass with a slightly hazy, sunset-orange glow, topped by a lovely, fluffy head that looks almost like a fluffy marshmallow. A veritable stampede of small bubbles rushes toward the surface, giving the beer a lively and energetic presence.
S: The nose offers exactly what you want from the style. It leads with a distinct, sweet rice scent backed by a snappy hit of fresh lemon. It’s clean, inviting, and very focused.
T: This absolutely nails the brief. The sweet, creamy character of the rice is front and centre, beautifully complemented by bright yet subtle citrus notes. The bitterness is restrained but perfectly judged, leading into a finish that is simultaneously sweet, zingy, and incredibly refreshing. It’s a masterclass in balance for a rice lager.
M: The mouthfeel is impressively smooth and carries a satisfying fullness. The carbonation is robust and lively, but it feels perfectly in sync with the flavour profile rather than being overly prickly or aggressive.
O: A thoroughly enjoyable and expertly crafted rice lager. The flavour profile hits every mark with clarity and precision, making it perfectly suited for a long, slow session on a warm afternoon.
Cheers!
