Deep bright crimson tone, saturated ruby with a compact head, patchy skim and a collar of pink foam.

Intense raspberry aroma, seedy with fuzzy skin and pulpy juice.

Natural raspberry flavor is prominent, the bacterial notes have a musty, moldy quality like wet wood. Acidity is moderate, and on par with a traditional framboise. Spritzy carb, seltzery, light bodied. Finishes dry with a lingering aftertaste of the musty barrel.

In time it gets less funky, but the musty note is persisitent. Saturated natural raspberry is intense and the main draw. Overall it’s a funky raspberry bomb, the funk may be an acquired taste.

Released 9/17/22; drank 10/4/22 @ the Yarchives.

Semi-opaque red/purple appearance.

A slow pour yielded a small pink head; almost no lace.

Tart raspberry, mild Luden's cough drop & faint oak notes in the nose.

Syrup-y, medium mouthfeel.

Sour Luden's cough drop flavors; with a sharp black pepper bite on the finish.

This is the first Sundial beer that I've flat out not liked; I'd prefer they keep it closer to straight up saison vibes but I know these sour fruit beers probably move more bottles. Oh well; they still have my attention.
