I added this beer to BeerAdvocate predominantly as a warning to those with tastebuds.
Format: a standard 330mL clear bottle with a pretty rubbish macro label. Does not inspire confidence.
Appearance: pours a strong mid-amber yellow colour with chunky but sporadic carbonation - doesn't look brilliant at all. The head is a white half-finger that drops to a thin film immediately.
Aroma: oh dear, what is that? An awkward vegetal and chemical cleaner smell. Putrid.
Taste: fortunately the chemical cleaners have gone, to be replaced with that vegetal fug mixed with incredibly poor grain and adjuncts. This is a truly horrific beer.
Aftertaste: oddly for a macro lager - and particularly a mid-strength - the flavours linger for some time, which in this case is a cause for concern.
Mouth feel: light in body with a sharp but reasonable carbonation. This part of the beer is at least almost acceptable.
Overall: this is without a shadow of a doubt one of the worst beers I have ever had. It is cheap at AU$35 a case and it is a mid-strength, but seriously, just by XXXX Gold or Carlton Mid. I am actually a bit offended that they put this on sale. Gross.
