This bitter was first brewed in 1998 to commemorate the annual Pecos Conference and named after famed archeologist A.V. Kidder. This beer has a complex fruity “nutmeg” aroma and flavor derived from centennial & cascade hops, blended with a rich satisfying caramel malt profile.

On tap at the brewpub in August 2009. Reviewed from notes.

Pours the color of bread crust with a light off white head and a small amount of lacing. The nose brings out some bread and caramel with some very mild earthy hops in the background. The flavor is about the same, with a slightly-detectable amount of hop flavor and bitterness. Focus on lighter malt. Feel is nice with good carbonation. Not a bunch of flavor, but drinks pretty well.
