Served in a shaker glass at the brewery.
Robust carbonation shoots upward in the golden and copper body. Certainly malt-tinged, but it appears as if New Mexico's breweries are going lighter with the malts. Rich sudsy head a finger thick. I dock points only for the damn shaker glass. 4.5
Soapy, piney, lemon and grapefruit rind. Light sweet malt presence. Smells really nice. Like older versions of Elevated or Dank, really. 4.25
Really tasty. Clearly feels like a page out of the Bosque, La Cumbre IPA playbook, which in Albuquerque would be a bummer (we don't need more beers tasting exactly like one another), but for Santa Fe I welcome it. This is easily the best IPA brewed in Santa Fe. It has a radiant citrus flavor that approaches sweet, juicy orange but also shows some grapefruit. It's not quite as bright and continuous with the citrusy quality to last through a whole pint, but it's solid. 4
Just a shade less alcohol that Dank or Elevated or Scale Tipper, but feels about the same. Easy-drinking but full-bodied and still refreshing. 4
Like I said, already the best IPA in Santa Fe. Just like that. Too much like the state's best to be a true standout and winner.
