Reviewed from notes.

Pours a very clear yellow straw color with plenty of carbonation. Nose is light straw and grain husks without much else. The taste is similar. Light and crisp with a tad bit of fruit. Drinks fairly well in the summer, though it is quite plain.

1/9/2005. Probably a better choice for the summertime as it is relatively light-bodied. Pours a cloudy yellow color topped with a surprisingly thick white head. A ton of lacing left on the glass. Aroma is vanilla and sweet smelling while the flavors are very sweet, some vanilla and lemon. Mouthfeel was watery and thin. Aftertaste was almost non existant. I can see drinking this in the hot sun, but overall it's not a very good beer.

Dark for a Kölsch; coppery brown, very clear and sparkly. Does not smell much like a beer, I am getting an open, clean sensation, almost an anti-odor, like Febreze. Disturbingingly sharp and sour, metallic with dill and, perhaps, a pine needle or two. Very sparkly and cidery in an unpleasant way.

This was quite a good interpretation of a Kolsch. Definitely a good beer to drink as the weather warms up. It pours a very light golden color with a big fluffy white head that held for quite some time. The smell and taste were very similar to each other. Not a whole lot of flavors but some breadiness in there with a floral aspect. Medium body and a crisp finish make this a very drinkable beer. Old Hat did good here.
